18 Months and Visit with Alison

18 months, 1.5 years - can't believe it! Emma is growing up so fast! She is starting to name her stuffed animals and has names for her core group of stuffed animals that she takes to bed. Emma is still obsessed with cats, and asks for one often.  She is getting very inquisitive and wants to know what we are doing ALL of the time, it is so cute!  She is starting to really become interested in climbing things. She said her first, unsolicited  "I love you" to her daddy the other day. He was getting her out of her highchair and was kissing her neck when she said it. So awesome! I am amazed by all she learns each and every day.

We had our 3rd visit with Alison in Portland, taking Emma to the Zoo and the Children's Museum.  We all had a blast! Although, it was a little on the hot side the day we went to the Zoo, and it was noisy!  But, really, just so much fun!!!  Emma loved running around seeing everything and people watching.  Her favorite animals were the Polar Bears.  She went up to the glass and kept motioning for them to come while saying; "Come here, polar bears. Come here."  We were getting ready to leave when the big male polar bear came out.  Emma saw him and squealed with delight as she ran back to watch him.  She could have stayed there all day!  Josh ended up getting her a stuffed polar bear, which she fell in love with instantly!

The next day we all went to the Children's Museum.  She loved playing in the water most, but had a great time just running around and exploring.  I loved getting to watch her discover her world!  She is so enthusiastic and joyful!  I get to pretend I am a kid again when playing with her, it is so much fun! This motherhood thing is pretty fantastic, and the joy is multiplied by getting our be part of Alisons life, and have her be a part of Emma's and ours.

I may not be the best mother, but I love my baby girl so very much and try my best to be the kind of mother she needs. Heaven is - being Emma's mom!
