Chosen

We have been chosen!  You have no idea how wonderful it is to say that! There were days when it was hard to believe this day would actually come.  But, here it is.  I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude!

We will be meeting with the potential birthmom next week.  I am so excited and so nervous!!!  What should I say, what should I wear, how should I act?  Will she still like us after meeting with us?  What if she hates us after the meeting?  What if she changes her mind?  So many questions and emotions it is hard to focus on any one in particular.  But there are a few that stand out in my mind, profound respect, love and gratitude towards this woman that we have yet to meet.

I can only imagine how difficult this decision was for her, and am awed by the love she has for her child.  This amazing woman, if all goes well and she does not change her mind, will be a part of our lives forever.  I hope that, when we meet, she feels the love and respect we have for her as well as the love and joy we feel at the prospect of being parents to her child.

I realize that nothing is set in stone, she may change her mind at any moment after the meeting and has 48 hours after the baby is born to make her final decision, but as of now we will be parents by November!  It is all happening so fast!  We will not know if the baby is a boy or girl until he or she is born but, regardless of sex, he or she will be loved more than life itself!

Now to start purchasing the other baby items that will be needed soon.  Yes, I have a mental list of all the things we still need.  We may have some of the basics but there are still lots of things that we do not have yet.  All the things on my Amazon and Target baby registry will need to be purchased ASAP.

And for those of you curious as to when we will have a baby shower, I think we will wait until after we have brought the baby home. :)
