Trades of Hope was founded when a group of women found they could help promote the work of female artisans from around the world using the home party model, and, in doing so, help these women overcome poverty, escape from the sex trade, put food on the table, a roof over their heads, raise their families, and get medical care and education. They work directly with the artists and organizations to bring their products to you.
Trades of Hope " Compassion Entrepreneurs" sell these products at home parties and earn extra income, but only after the artists receive a fair wage for the wonderful work. Each product is under $50, is hand-crafted, and comes with a tag that indicates where it cames from as well as a little information on the artist or group of artists that created it.
Her is why my sister loves Trades of Hope: I love trades of hope because it is a way for me to promote the welfare and care of others, help families stay together by helping them earn their income and because it is my at home missions trip with opportunities to go and meet the artisans and other Compassion Entrepreneurs around the country. But most of all I love it because it helps to show people around the world that other's care about them and that God loves them too and wants a better life for them.

ReplyDeleteI love scarves :)
ReplyDeleteTrades of Hope is an aweseom program that is creating opportunity for women to earn dignity. A hand out isn't a hand up. This program improves the lives of these women. How fitting for this blog, as adoption also improves the situation and life for a child and blesses the parents on both sides, knowing that child will be given the best opportunities and love. My mother in law gave me a Trades of Hope scarf for Christmas last year and if I win this one I think I'd give it to her. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's been so special following your story through this blog, Carole!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an awesome program. I love programs like these that give these women practical ways to help themselves out of poverty.
